In my very first blogpost, I mentioned that I would like to implement a comments section for this blog at some point, followed immediately by saying that I didn't have the greatest track record with completing projects; I didn't want to initially take on too much work (since I already had plans for other things that I wanted to tackle first).
Well, it was a smart idea... that I didn't stick to for very long. A week later, I made the first commit on the project that would end up being Confab Comments.
I've worked on Confab on and off for about a year and a half now, and (while still not completely production ready), it's at a stage now where I'd consider it to be generally feature-complete. For the small-scale site that the project is aimed at (like this blog), I think it has more than enough functionality for both users and administrators.
More information about the project is available on the website, and all the source code is available on GitHub (feel free to leave me a star while you're there 🙂). I've also made the effort to write up comprehensive documentation to hopefully make integrating Confab and using it effectively on your site as easy as possible.
A demo instance is available on the website, or you can try it out by leaving a comment right here on this blogpost!
